It’s been another busy year here at team knitterain. The headline news for 2016 here at team knitterain is that we have a beautiful website! Thanks to Brian’s superhuman efforts, knitterain.com is up and running. The amount of time, research, testing, problem solving, and general tenacity Brian put into this project is truly remarkable.

Today marks the 4th birthday for knitterain (with a lower case k). I have been Knitterain (with an upper case K), online for many years, but the knitterain (with a lower case k) “brand” was born 4 years ago today, and like any proud parent I find myself reflecting on the past and looking forward to the future.
Welcome to my inaugural blog post! As I thought about what to write in this first post, I recalled a conversation when someone asked me what my favorite part about designing was. I quickly realized how much I enjoyed the connections I make with knitters around the world. My first pattern, Haruni, is a testament to the magic that happens when modern social media converges with traditional crafting. Originally published in 2009, Haruni continues to be popular with knitters around the world. Every handknit item has a story behind it; I’d like to share some of these incredible Haruni stories with you.
